January Inspiration

January is always a strange month for everyone. After the Christmas binging on food and alcohol everyone goes into hibernation and socialising is the last thing on your mind. I've had a few weeks of being alcohol free, got myself back to the gym and I'm now feeling super motivated. January is a time for new starts and to be inspired, and not only am I being inspired by others but I'm also inspiring myself with my motivation and dedication to what I love.

So someone asked me the other day why I aspire to make it as a blogger, and it got me thinking about why people do it. Many young girls do it for fame and recognition, however what talent do you hold from posting a picture of yourself in a bodycon dress taken on self timer in your bedroom? Blogging is a type of art form in the fashion industry and it should be done to inspire others. Yes a lot of it is done for promoting brands and their products and if you can make a career out of it then why not, but expressing yourself through styling, photography and writing is so much more than that. 2016 was the year when my blog really started and I was recognised by brands as being an influencer, and although a lot of my work is personal and unpaid it is an expression of who I am and what I love doing. From studying Fashion Styling and Image Making at university I have a passion for photography and fashion imagery in general, so I aspire for my blog to be creative and aesthetically pleasing to look at. 2017 is going to be my year, and it's not "if" it's "when".

Above are some images of my January inspiration all taken from Pinterest. Pinterest is an amazing platform for inspiration and can be a huge help to many bloggers. Whether you're looking for some flat lay inspiration or need help with poses, making a board can be very helpful when it comes down to creating your own imagery. Here is a link to my Pinterest to help you feel inspired: My January inspiration is a bit of a random mixture of things from healthy body inspiration to cosy January outfit ideas. I let myself go in terms of healthy eating and exercise after a break up and over the Christmas period, however I'm more determined than ever to be the best version of myself I can be. I'm not overweight in the slightest, however if my body is fine without exercising what could it look and feel like if I dedicate myself to healthy eating and working out?

You sometimes have to ask yourself what you want in life, and if you aren't working hard enough to get it then do you really want it that much?
