Adding Colour To My Wardrobe.

We all know that colour is pretty much none existent when it comes to my wardrobe. It's not that I don't like colour, I see other people wearing colour and become envious of how good it looks on them but it has never really been something which appeals to me when shopping. Maybe secretly I am too scared of attracting attention as I have never been the most outgoing person, but the majority of the time I just don't really think I suit it. I delved into wearing a few pops of red last year and have recently discovered a love for the colour green, however colour is still a rare appearance both on my Instagram and in day to day life. It has been a new goal for me to try and start adding more colour to my wardrobe, and I certainly went all out with the colour for my first piece.

In an ideal world it should be the time to start packing our knitwear into storage for the year and transitioning into our Spring wardrobe, however as we all know from the unpredictable British Weather and the horrendous snow this weekend that isn't the case. Luckily we managed to miss the worst of the snow when we did this shoot on Saturday, however I was feeling grateful I was wearing this jumper from & Other Stories. They are without a doubt one of my favourite high street stores and are quickly becoming my go-to destination for new pieces. The prices may be slightly higher than your average high street shop, however the quality certainly reflects this and it is well worth spending that little bit extra. I didn't buy a lot of new knitwear this year - it is something I am really fussy about for some reason and it has to be perfect in order for me to buy it, so I guess I made up for that when I chose this amazing Coral toned oversized jumper.

I took a look at the whole aesthetic of my Instagram the other day and yes, the main thing it is lacking is colour but is that such a bad thing? I have built my own aesthetic of greys and neutral tones and I am proud of the way my Instagram looks, but for some reason whenever I post a bit of colour the engagement hits the roof. There are a few trends I love but the thought of trying them scares the hell out of me. Mixing prints and also mixing colour are two of them, but for now I will stick to my single pops of colour as it is so easy to mix into my mainly black, grey and white wardrobe. Worn with my trusty PVC trousers, leather biker and classic baker boy hat to keep the jumper the statement piece, it was the perfect Saturday day time outfit.
