Hello Autumn.

I have to say I was sad to say bye to our very short and not so sunny summer, but you really can't beat  autumn fashion so my wardrobe and Instagram feed (not my bank account) were very happy when October arrived. I am a major jacket fiend and that is the reason I never have any space in my wardrobe, but I persistently buy more to add to the unnecessarily large collection. Embarrassingly I'd say I've already purchased around 5 new jackets this season already along with having approximately another 10 filling my online baskets, but it would be rude not to share my best finds with you guys. Welcome the autumn jacket blog post (and my first blog post in about 8 months, sorry!).

This weekend was the first weekend of the season we experienced that crisp cold air, so I decided to take my new H&M coat for an outing. I kept the outfit pretty casual with a black tee and some premium looking knitted joggers from Zara along with my Dr Marten Jadon boots, and it truly did feel like autumn (or maybe more like winter?)! This coat is perfectly oversized and is a very wearable but unusual neutral colour which was a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I can't say my wardrobe has the most colourful palette, but this neutral tone adds something extra on those all black outfit days. It's that easy to throw on over anything but still looks great coat everyone needs in their wardrobe.

I usually tend to stick to more classic styles when it comes to coats so I can reintroduce them into my wardrobe year after year (although its inevitable I will continue to buy more than I need next year). I've seen a huge increase in people re-wearing old pieces on Instagram lately and being sustainable with our fashion is more important than ever, so choosing things wisely we will love for years to come is so important! There are a few staple go to's for outerwear for me I will always have in my wardrobe - a leather biker jacket, classic mac, black blazer, black tailored coat, neutral coloured coat and a shearling jacket.

Although I do have all of these in my wardrobe, it took me years to build the perfect outerwear collection as they don't all come cheap. I invested in expensive pieces opting for quality over quantity and spending that extra bit of money meant I still have and love all of these pieces now. However great outerwear doesn't have to be pricey and there are some great pieces on the high street at the moment including the coat I'm wearing in this blog post!

As mentioned earlier I've put together a selection of some of my favourite coats from this season below. I only ever shop on the high street and online, so they are all very affordable and with Black Friday just around the corner you'll be able to get some great deals on outerwear then! I will hopefully put together an edit of my favourite discounted pieces for Black Friday, so keep your eyes peeled nearer the time.
